Rapid Prototyping

A. Rapid prototyping is widely used in various industries (eg. Medical, manufacturing, electrical, footwear, constructional and various others). Prototyping is an integral part of the Design thinking and user experience.

B. Helps understand and visualise complex mechanisms, their working and methods of improvement. (eg. rolling contact bearing, internal combustion engines etc.). Rapid prototyping accelerates the Design process as it finds simple, elegant solutions to complex problems.

C. Mechanical analysis softwaresare used to run simulations on the design and subsequently, mechanical operations are carried on the prototype to fit its desired purpose. This process facilitates early detection of errors in design, substantial cost and time saving.

D. The prototype is evaluated and tested to find every improvement possible at this stage These changes are then incorporated back into the CAD file and new model is built. The process is repeated until the product is ready for manufacturing. Incorporates Engineering Design techniques and calculations for various mechanisms into product.
